One of the things I love most about my work as a dietitian is media projects. It’s been a huge part of my work since early one, and it always will be. I sincerely appreciate the opportunities I’ve had to share my thoughts – via publications, interviews and podcasts – facilitate (evidence-based) knowledge sharing, idea generation, personal growth, and innovation while connecting with others.Â
Each quarter I like to share a round-up of what I’ve done media-wise in the past few months—and look at the bigger picture of the things that I’ve shared.
I don’t know about you, but as the first quarter of 2023 opened, I wasn’t feeling as raring to go on New Year’s goals as other years. I felt like I still had a ton of processing from 2022 to do and felt called to listen and let ideas percolate rather than try to force things in my personal and professional life.Â
Something I’ve been practicing in recent months as I let go of what no longer serves me (hello, Type A need to do everything myself!) to make room for what actually matters is being open to and excited by possibilities rather than overwhelmed by fear of the unknown. It’s kind of like doing a closet edit of the soul. Does this spark joy? Does that actually benefit my business? Am I actually using this product/service/practice? What do I want to do more of? It can be scary to put something in the (figurative) donate pile or the trash bag, but also freeing.Â
I’m a little later than originally planned sharing these, but here’s a look at some recent publications, podcast episodes, and media appearances from the first quarter of 2023.Â
I’d love to hear from you: what’s something you’ve been working on this year?
