During their Ambulatory Nutrition rotation, interns in my program prepare and promote a healthy lunch special that’s sold in the cafeteria for a day. This rotation, the recipe was for a colorful black bean and butternut squash chili served with polenta wedges.
Because of the AC in the hospital, a lot of us wind up wanting something warm for lunch. This totally hit the spot today. Since I still had a little money left over on my meal credit, I also got a side of spinach to add yet another color to the mix. Normally I add salad on but I wanted all hot stuff today, 88 degrees or not.
It’s been interesting to see what other interns have done, and I’m curious what my partner and I will end up doing. Since it will probably be cold during our Ambulatory rotation, we’ll probably end up doing something warm and comforting.
Okay, side note: why is July going so fast? At the rate things are moving, it will be snowing before we know it. Yikes.
