Happy What I Ate Wednesday. If you enjoyed a long weekend, hope you’re getting back into the swing of the week. Mid-February—what the eff? Why is time moving so fast? Last week I shared a weekend day for my weekly food diary-like post, so this week I’m changing things up and sharing a work day’s eats. Since when do I say “eats”? Yikes. Oh well. Here’s what I ate last Saturday, when I worked a shift at the hospital and had a wedding in the evening.

Desk Breakfast: Chocolate pumpkin oatmeal  with peanut butter

Desk Lunch: Totally forgot to take a picture, but it was a generic desk lunch salad that looked a lot like this one.

Snacks: I had some yogurt with cocoa powder and blackberries during the afternoon and bites of things I was cooking for the next day’s Galentines Day lunch.

Dinner: Before the wedding, which wasn’t until late (for me), I had some riced cauliflower with random veggies, egg whites, and 1/2 an avocado. I was in such a rush I forgot to snap a picture. Oh well. I was glad I’d eaten something, though. It wasn’t a sit-down dinner type of wedding, but more an awesome cocktail party affair. The food didn’t start appearing at the wedding until after 8, which is kind of a long time when you’ve been up since 5 a.m. I obviously wasn’t super-hungry, but of course I had room for some oysters, sushi, and brown liquor.wedding oysters

I also took a short break from making a fool of myself dancing and had a few bites of cake (chocolate and lemon,  both from the Two Little Red Hens Bakery). All in all, it was one of the most lovely weddings I’ve ever been to. I loved seeing how happy everyone was, and it was wonderful to catch up with some old friends I don’t get to see what often.

Evening Snack: A sliced banana with peanut butter before face-planting into bed.
