I really enjoyed not traveling this weekend. It gave me a chance to sleep in and catch up with some of my favorite people.
Friday night, Chris and I went to see Horrible Bosses (and smuggled in some still-warm chocolate chocolate chip zucchini bread). On a rainy night, there’s nothing like laughing your butt off in a movie theater.
Saturday was pretty random but a lot of fun. My mom, sister and I went out for brunch at Marseille in Hells Kitchen and then to see Sister Act. I’ve been trying to take more advantage this summer of all the theater discounts I get, and sometimes it’s for really random shows at the last minute. We had a lot of fun. It doesn’t get much better than tasty brunch, walking around the city, and going to a play.
Saturday night Chris and I went to our beloved Gazala Place for dinner with an old friend. It was nice and low-key.
Sunday I went to a morning hot-yoga class and then met up with a couple of my best girls. We got brunch at HK and then walked around the flea market.
Go figure I took plenty of photos of flea market amusements and none when we went to the Highline and the river. I was too busy catching up and having fun!
I’m glad I had some time to kick back and enjoy my hometown this weekend. I’m shadowing an RD this week and then heading to Boston for my aunt’s bridal shower, so the next seven days are going to be packed!

I love New Yorky weekends! The Highline is so cool – I went there for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it.
Hope you have fun shadowing the RD! I still have not been able to do something like that with my crazy work schedule.
Thanks! I think this is going to be my last shadowing/volunteer thing for a while—I’m taking on more work this fall and I also really need to buckle down and, like, not fail Proteins Fats & Carbs.
