Happy Thursday! Hope you’re having a wonderful week.
I was talking recently about mid-year resolutions, and it’s still on my mind.
After posting my breakfast every day for almost a year, I started feeling like I was in a rut and since changing the way I eat in the morning (breakfast is the “you do you” meal, as far as I’m concerned) for the sake of social media variety sounded ridiculous, I had fun thinking of some other ways to continue to Keeping It Real Food tradition of sharing glimpses at real life.
As my main mid-year goal, I’m making a point of eating lunch away from my desk on my work-from-home days. To help me get into the habit and keep myself accountable, until the end of the summer, I’m going to start posting my lunches to social media. Another mid-year resolution? Take more morning walks. It’s only been about three weeks since I started doing this, but it’s already been a total game-changer. I’ve also been enjoying meeting with friends and colleagues for walking dates/meetings instead of catching up over drinks or coffee. Why have I not been doing this forever?
I saw this on one of my wanderings recently, and it was just the reminder I needed that day.
Do you take a lunch break? Would you ever change what you ate just to post something different on social media? Are there any habits you’re trying to get into?
This post has been part of another Running with Spoons Thinking Out Loud link party, where randomness is the name of the game. Thanks to Amanda for hosting.

How fun is this! When i worked in an office, I always ate in front of a computer and hated it. Not I’m usually grabbing bites in between running around my house like a chicken with my head cut off, so there’s that 😉
Haha pros and cons, right?
YES!!!! When I worked in an office i was like the only person who got up and went for a walk or did something with my lunch hour and you know what, I was way more productive the rest of the day than anyone else! We have to stop feeling guilty for taking a break.
Love that! I actually do that a lot on the days I work at the hospital. It makes more sense to eat while I type my notes and then take a walk on my actual break—it feels so nice to get out!
This is something I should totally start doing, seeing as a lot of days I don’t even have a lunch break… and if I do, I’m at the computer and barely even notice. I suck at staying consistent with social media, but I’m hoping that getting back into sharing WIAW posts will help keep me a little more accountable.
When you work with food, I feel like it can be so hard to draw boundaries and set aside those meal times. I loved your WIAW post this week 🙂
Yup, I too have to force myself away from my desk at lunch time. It’s so important to take a mental break from the office. Whether it’s a stroll to get a coffee down the street, or a power walk…fresh air makes everything better!
Totally agree! Even when the weather sucks, I’ll still make myself get out. It helps hit the reset button like nothing else.
