Happy Thursday! How’s your week going? I don’t know about anyone else, but this year I’m not really feeling any crazy “new year, new you” vibes. The general theme seems to be, “Stay on that right-for-you path.” Last week I talked about how creating a calendar for my blog helped me get a better handle on my workflow. As we get into these first weeks of 2017, I’m still thinking a lot about my schedule and how I can manage my time more effectively.

I love when people are, like, “How do you do it all?”

Um, I don’t. Exhibit A: Sometimes getting out the door on time in the morning is more of a priority than getting all the dishes into the dishwasher.

Some other random things on my mind this week:

*I loved this post from The Kitchn about how breakfast has changed. I got a good laugh out of the part where it talks about how millennials reported that cereal was “inconvenient” to clean up after. Seriously? What is happening in this world?

*More time management stuff: I also know that in last week’s post, I mentioned I might start skipping Tuesdays on here to focus more on quality rather than quantity. I’ve been stretched super-thin lately, and the last thing I want is to post crappy stuff on here. What I’m planning to do instead that day is share a past recipe or post that I love and want to share.

*The other morning I was getting ready for work and had that moment where I thought, “Hm. Will these corporate clients think less of me for wearing this necklace with the crystals? Probably.” So I wore another necklace I love and started my workday worry-free. My younger self would likely say I’d sold out, but one thing I’ve been happy to learn as I’ve gotten older is that being true to yourself can still include wearing clothing that fits into your surroundings so you can focus on what you’re doing instead of on how you look to others.

*Wintertime is great for quiet reflection, but as I was discussing last Friday, sometimes the lack of sunlight and cold temps can drag us down. Light therapy has been one of my go-to remedies for the winter blah’s. My sister and I are both big fans of the Verilux HappyLight .

*Winter weather aside, I woke up craving a nice cream smoothie pretty hardcore. This one totally hit the spot.
