Happy Thursday! Hope you’re having a great week. Mine’s been busy, and I’ve got lots of random stuff to share for this week’s link-up.
*First off, I want to say a big thank you to Athleta Flatiron for hosting my Self-Care for Entrepreneurs workshop the other night. I had a great time and also loved Whitney Tucker’s yoga class. It was great to learn about how spacing inhales and exhales can help you power down or energize.
*In my health coaching coursework, we got to a section this week where we have to explore out relationship with money. Yikes! As a female of the species, money is such a hard topic for me to talk about. I have major impostor syndrome issues and fear and a terrible tendency to lowball myself, but awareness is the first step. I’ve found myself having to give numbers a lot, though, recently, so at least I’ve had lots of practice.
*Speaking of negotiations, my friends over at Ask For It just relaunched their website and unveiled their manifesto. They don’t know I’m on here bragging about it today (yet), but hi guys! It looks AMAZING, so hop on over and check it out.
*Since girl power has become the day’s unofficial theme, have you tried my PMS Avenger Trail Mix yet? I’m a little obsessed.
*The other day my mom was in town for an appointment, so I met up with her afterwards for pedicures, a little shopping, and then oyster happy hour and dinner at the Mermaid Inn. It’s one of my favorite places in the city—the food is always delicious, and I love the cozy yet lively atmosphere. Working weekends makes it hard for me to find time for stuff like this, and it was the perfect mid-week antidote to burnout.
What’s on your mind this week?
This post has been part of another Running with Spoons Thinking Out Loud link party, where randomness is the name of the game. Thanks to Amanda for hosting.

Ugh just the thought of talking money makes me uncomfortable. What’s up with that?
I get the sense it’s really common among women. My male friends and colleagues don’t seem to have the same hesitation. I’m really hoping I manage to work through it one day! That’s why I’m so happy there are organizations out there empowering women to negotiate and stand up for our needs. Our time and talent is worth fair compensation!
Ooh wow that avenger trail mix looks so good! And talking money isn’t something i love to do either; it’s more fun to just help others. Whenever I find myself worrying about money, it takes my eyes off of God providing for my every need. It’s definitely not bad to make money, but I never want it to be the center of my life.
Thanks for sharing! And yes, helping others is such an amazing feeling. One thing I know I’ve had to learn along the way is that it’s ok to make enough to support myself so that I’m able to continue to help those around me.
