Easter snuck up on me this year. I didn’t even get my act together in time to figure out what to do for Lent. It seems like it was just last Easter:
Sometimes my family does dinner at someone’s house, but we’re doing what we did a few years back and going out for an early dinner this time. I kind of like holiday dinners out because the structure helps me focus on the “togetherness” part and provides a reliable beginning, middle, and end.
If you’re celebrating this weekend and still need recipe ideas, I shared my grandmother’s Greek lamb recipe over on Stone Soup this week. Traditional pairings in my family include salad and…pierogies and babka, since my mom’s side is Polish. Whatever works!
This post has been part of another Running with Spoons Thinking Out Loud link party, where randomness is the name of the game. Thanks to Amanda for hosting.

My hubby is from Pittsburgh and loves pierogies! I feel like we don’t have them enough.
I go through phases where I forget about them, but every time I have them, I wonder why. I tried making my own this past Thanksgiving with my mom and aunts—we had a lot of fun.
Heck yeah to the Polish-ness! My family is Polish so we’ve always got pierogies around the holidays. That and borscht and babka 😀
OMG so. much. babka. It makes great French toast.
I’m totally craving pierogies now! I haven’t had them in so, so long.
Yeah, it’s been a few months for me, and now they’re on my mind. I think my faves are the mushroom and sauerkraut. Haha I wish i had some now!
