.) From the Huffington Post: 8 Things Nutrition Experts Wish You Would Stop Saying About Food. Yes, yes, and yes x 8

.) When I was a little kid, I was obsessed with the concept of reincarnation—you couldn’t shut me up about it! I stopped for a while when my classmates started to make fun of me for being “weird,” but I started thinking and reading about it again when I was fifteen or so. This time, it was more about past life regression therapy (Once upon a time, I thought I might become an art therapist).  I hadn’t really thought about any of this stuff in a while, but after a conversation with a friend-of-a-friend last month, I downloaded a few books from the library about it.  Regardless of whether past lives are “real” or not, I think it’s important to think about the reactions and connections we experience and why we might be drawn to or repelled by certain people and things. If you prefer to think of it this way: Understanding our mistakes can help keep us from repeating them.

.) The other day I had a yoga-and-lunch date with Val in Astoria. After a restorative class at Yoga Agora, we made our way to MP Taverna for some fabulous Greek food—amazing! My grilled bronzino was delicious, and I loved the presentation! What a lovely way to spend a summer  afternoon! MP Taverna

.) Speaking of Greek things, I’m going to a big, fat Greek wedding this weekend.

.) Trying to hold off until Mercury goes direct on July 2nd, but gah—puppies! So much cuteness.

.) I got to rock some solstice beach hair this past weekend. Happy summer to me. Here’s to giving the hair-dryer a break once in a while this season. solstice beach hair
