Happy Thursday! How’s your week going? We’ve been having some great weather here in NYC. It’s so nice to feel like spring is actually here!
Here’s some random goings-on from the past week or so.
*The primaries were on Tuesday here in NYC. Pure crazy, but you’d better believe I voted!
*Last weekend, I went to a 30th birthday party at a speakeasy-style bar called The Back Room, where they served their drinks in teacups. Nothing says, “Happy Birthday” like a glorified mug of brown liquor. It was fun to dress up and celebrate my friend Lauren’s entrance into the over-30 club.
I cannot stop listening to the new Lumineers album, Cleopatra. LOVE it. This song, especially:
*I got a much-needed haircut. Anyone else deal with hair in their face all day when you get a fresh cut or am I just awful at adult-ing?
*While testing out a new yogurt dressing recipe (coming soon), I decided to make a batch of baked falafel. Why don’t I do this more often? Ditto, chickpea flour pancakes.
*Mercury retrograde is coming again next week, so I’m taking stock of what projects and things I want to work on behind the scenes. It’s not a great time for pulling the trigger on any big plans, but it’s a great time to get organized, plot, and scheme.
What music are you loving lately? Any foods you love but sometimes forget about making?
This post has been part of another Running with Spoons Thinking Out Loud link party, where randomness is the name of the game. Thanks to Amanda for hosting.

Loveeee the lumineers. So beautiful.
Also wonder why I don’t make falafel more often. First time I did I was so shocked how surprisingly easy it was. Thanks for the reminder!!
Haha oh my gosh—SO easy. Enjoy!
Wow, you were brave to get out there and vote, and I’m glad you did! :))) Hmm… I haven’t been listening to much music lately. I do love listening to my sister play her guitar.
Voting is one right I will never take for granted. And wow—that is so awesome you get to listen to your sister play guitar!
Ahhh I’m listening to the Lumineers right now! Love them. I love hearing about things like Mercury Retrograde – I know so little about things like this, but I always want to know more!!
I go through phases where I forget about them, and then I go on a total listening binge. If you’re interested in mercury retrograde and stuff, there are lots of awesome resources to learn a bit more. A few of my favorite approachable ones are Susan Miller’s Astrologyzone (http://www.astrologyzone.com/ ) and Mystic Mamma (http://www.mysticmamma.com/ ).
I can’t get my hair to behave properly for at least a week after I get it cut, and it’s even worse if I add colour to it. And I feel like I”m constantly forgetting about food and then randomly remembering how much I love it. Right now it’s lentils <3
I’m so glad I’m not the only one! I am always careful not to get a haircut too close to a big event in case I can’t get a handle on it.
