Happy Thursday! I always look forward to Thursday posts because it’s a time to just let the stream of consciousness do its thing. I’ve got a lot kicking around in my head today, so let’s get down to it, shall we?
*Maybe this is a weird food blogger thing, but there are fewer food-things better than oats eaten out of a near-empty peanut butter jar. Best way to deal with that last tablespoon ever. Tuesday morning, I made a batch of zucchini bread oats (with egg white for extra protein) for the next few days and poured a serving into this jar. Perfection.
*Starting this weekend I’m going to take a break from blogging on Saturdays. I have a lot of exciting projects in the works that I’ll continue to share with you guys, but I need to make time to focus on those things. And you, know, practice having a life. Besides, the weather is starting to get nicer out, so my hope is that you would all be out enjoying each other instead of inside reading nutrition blogs ; )
*Speaking of nutrition blogs, an article I contributed to on coconut oil cooking hacks is now up on Shape. I mention some of my fave uses for coconut oil and talk about granola clusters and Magic Shell for grown-ups.
*This is funny because it’s true. “Hi, my name is Steven. I’m in accounting, and I love man-made lakes.” Ah, speed dating…So bad, it’s good.
*Not funny: Diet pills. In this Yahoo Health article, I voice a few of my concerns.

I’ve actually never really gotten into the oats in a jar thing. The melty nut butter part is amazing, but I’m not a huge fan of putting hot oats into a plastic jar 😕
I usually let it cool for a few minutes before pouring into the jar for that exact reason
That diet pill article is insane! It’s sad that they’re even allowed to be on the market….completely unnecessary.
Totally agree!
Overnight oats in almond butter jars are definitely an amazing thing! Also, love the magic shell idea!
It’s one of the few good things about an almost-empty jar of nut butter!
