Happy Thursday. Welcome to another Running with Spoons Thinking Out Loud link party, where randomness is the order of the day. Aka—brain dump. Thanks to Amanda for hosting.

Major writer’s block this week. Let’s skip to the randomness stuff, shall we?

1.) While I’m relieved that Winter Storm Juno fell a bit short of expectations in New York City, it makes me worry that people won’t take the next one seriously, sort of like what happened after Hurricane Irene and people wrote off Sandy like “another massive storm, NBD.”

2.) Since mass transit started running again Tuesday morning, the wine class I’d registered for at Back Label Wine Merchants with a Living Social deal was still on.

3.) New Death Cab for Cutie song! Wow. And now I know they have a new album coming out at the end of March. Happy Mercury Retrograde to me. I think I first started listening to this band when I was 16—not sure if this is good or bad?

4.) I accidentally ordered vanilla Greek yogurt instead of plain from Fresh Direct and was so pissed. I just can’t get into sugary yogurt as a snack, so I’ve been using it as dessert. The other night, for example, I did 1/2 cup yogurt and a small sliced banana as a snack before bed.

6.) I’ve been trying to write a piece about beets all week but keep hitting a wall. What the hell? I love beets—why is writing this thing like pulling teeth? So it goes.
