Sometimes an almost-perfect dish just needs something to brighten it up.
Though I’ve been enjoying these baked zucchini fritters for the past few days, it wasn’t until a comment on the recipe inspired me to top them with a little marinara sauce. It was absolutely the missing piece! The carrot tossed into the salad added a splash of color too.
I should have known—red sauce makes almost anything better, at least in my humble opinion.
What are your favorite things to add red sauce to?

ahh I totally agree! Red sauce is the best. I like it with meatballs the best, but it’s even good on brown rice instead of pasta!
Me too! I actually made rice & beans with red sauce the other night. It was sooo good
Awesome I am going to give this a try, I’ll let you know how it comes out….
I hope you enjoy it!
and who knew zucchini fritters could ever be so delicious, if not addictive!!! and the texture of these looks out of this world! <3
The texture of these may have been my favorite part.
Funny you mentioned this. I made these white bean/sage patties and felt they were missing something. When I reread the recipe it said “serve with roasted tomato sauce.” Red sauce does make everything better. Your meal looks great.
White bean and sage sounds like such a great combo. I haven’t cooked with either in a while, but I might have to try that soon!
Red sauce is great on anything! I make a mean “No-lognese” pasta with lentils instead of meat!! That’s one of my favorites. I put it on Quinoa pasta!!!
Lentils in red sauce over pasta sounds awesome!
