Vacations are great. Not just great, essential. I don’t know about you, but getting out of town, even if only for a few days, helps me recharge.

As someone who hates to waste food, one thing that can be challenging is cleaning out the fridge before a trip. You end up eating some really random stuff.

Pre-Memorial Day omelette with toast and sauteed cabbage...

As we’re heading to the beach tonight, I’ve been working through the perishable stuff in fridge by making things like smoothies…

…weird, giant salads…

…and yogurt bowls.

There have also been a few of these involved. Yes, I know it’s July and I’m still working on my Easter candy…

It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it.
