As part of a national campaign against high blood pressure, six more companies have agreed to lower the salt content in their products. The New York City Department of Health announced on Tuesday that Butterball, Twinkies, Wonder Bread, Hostess, Snyder’s of Hanover, the sausage maker Premio, the tomato and bean packer Furmano’s and Delhaize America, which operates 1,600 East Coast supermarkets, will be gradually reducing their salt content by 25 percent over the next five years. So far, 22 companies have joined the initiative.
