Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far! I spent my Saturday in New Jersey for my sister’s graduation party. I caught up with some friends and family, ate some good food (um, these cupcakes, from a local shop, were insanely good—even the cake part!), and I also stopped by my old harp teacher’s house to, um, pick up my old harp.

I don’t know if I ever mentioned that one to you guys…I played the harp for many years as a kid and had really been missing it since coming back to NYC (it didn’t make sense to lug a harp up to college in Boston, you know?).

As if I didn’t already have enough going on…that harp-sized void needed to be filled, and after two years of stalling, I finally decided to do something about it. I can’t tell you how happy it made me to be sitting there today plucking those damn strings again (I was so excited, I forgot I was still wearing a silly apron). For some reason, this is the instrument that’s always made the most sense to me. I feel really lucky that through a weird turn of events, I was able to get to reconnect with the same harp I’d learned on. The universe has a funny way…
