And here we are, at the beginning of another month. Hope yours is off to a great start.
I love the optimism of a new month, especially one that brings a new season, but I have a complicated relationship with March. That whole lion-lamb thing, I suppose. I have a hard time with transition. Every year, I find myself happy to make it to April, if not a bit worse for the wear come April. Daylight Savings has a way of messing with my sleep cycle.
With a pair of eclipses coming up to add to the awesome (anyone else feel super-sensitive to lunar happenings?), I’m arming myself with all my usual sleep aids: Natural Vitality Calm (a magnesium powder), melatonin, smart bedtime snacks (hard-boiled eggs, banana with peanut butter, and no-salt added cottage cheese with cinnamon are a few go-tos), chamomile tea, and the reminder that even though one drink tastes good, a second usually finds me awake and alert come 2 a.m.
Do you ever have those times where you’re, like, “I really need a drink,” but it’s just not (or shouldn’t be) in the cards? Me too. I enjoy alcohol, but I like being productive and headache-free more, so unless I have social plans that involve drinks, the to-do list usually wins.
Today I have a quick & easy recipe for my current go-to “I need a drink but not really” drink with a silly video to show you how you can make your own.
Ingredients:
- Ice
- Seltzer or club soda
- The juice of one small lemon
- A few dashes Angostura bitters
- Directions:
Pour ingredients into a tumbler glass and stir.
Enjoy!
What’s your favorite drink lately? Do you feel like you’re sensitive to what’s going on with the moon?
