I’ve been seeing this 7 Links thing around the blog world this week and decided to
procrastinate on my work and give it a go.
To unite bloggers (from all sectors) in a joint endeavor to share lessons learned and create a bank of long but not forgotten blog posts that deserve to see the light of day again.

If I had to pick a “most beautiful” post, it might be the one I did this Fathers’ Day
, in which I wrote about my dad’s favorite foods. We may not see eye-to-eye on kale, but hey, as I’ve said, he taught me all my best curse words and, along with my mom, has always encouraged me to follow my bliss and say f-’em to anyone who doesn’t like it. Well, not to say that to their face, but yeah…
Britney Spears Releases Untouched Photos
. This post received over 400 hits the day it was posted (April 14, 2010). Go figure. I think it’s really cool when celebrities release untouched photos because it reminds the public that no one looks as good as they do after extensive hair, makeup and airbrushing.
Though I don’t completely shy away from controversial topics, my post on the Paleo Diet
received quite a few emails—some of them quite negative. In general, I’m not a big believer in “diets,” though I think that if someone wants to incorporate certain elements of a particular program, it can definitely be done. I worried about coming off as insensitive as I wrote this and edited it so many times. In the grand scheme of things, it’s not the worst diet program out there, but it always annoys me to see someone trying to get rich off of a gimmick.
I wrote this post on a day when I was in serious need of some advice and couldn’t find anything! I pulled out a few of my nutrition textbooks and wrote my own damn list of foods to help deal with “that time of the month.” Someone finds my blog through a search for this topic pretty much every day.
Not Enough Attention
Even though it was an entry about setbacks, I was really proud of myself for posting about the first time I applied for my dietetic internship—and didn’t get in
. I was so disappointed but I didn’t want to run and hide and pretend like it was nothing. It was a big deal, but I’m glad I was able to recognize at the time that it was going to turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Not only did I ended up getting matched to a program
that I feel is going to be a great fit—I also de-crazified my life a little and started volunteering at a new site where I’ve learned some truly amazing stuff.
Since practically every other blogger I know has already done this, I’m not going to tag anybody, but if you want to take a go at it, it’s a lot of fun!
