First off, thank you SO MUCH for your support and encouragement and encouragement on Monday’s book announcement! I can’t wait to share more with you!

I hope you’re having a great first month of 2019! Can you believe it’s already nearing the last few days of the month? Today I’m hitting “pause” to do my monthly round-up of things I’m loving. It’s a great way to infuse some gratitude, spread good vibes, and slow the f*** down. Here are some things I’m really digging right now.

Food

PurpleSweetPotatoBreakfast

Purple Sweet Potatoes

For breakfast most days this month I have been enjoying a combo of greens, cauliflower in buffalo sauce, eggs, and roasted Japanese or purple sweet potato. It’s so satisfying and delicious. I’ll make a big batch of the potatoes and veggies so it’s easier to throw together. If I’m doing a workout in the morning, I might have a small serving of sweet potato beforehand and then more when I sit down to breakfast later.

Mushroom Bacon

I have been making this at least once a week since playing with the recipe for this recipe for vegan cheddar-stuffed sweet potatoes

Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides

I’ve been on the go a lot lately, and I almost always have a stick of vital proteins collagen peptides powder in my purse to add to coffee if I need a little protein boost to keep me going.

RoastedMapleBrusselsSprouts

These Maple-Roasted Brussels Sprouts

After taking a little break I have been heavy-duty into Brussels sprouts. I’ve been loving them with eggs, greens, and potatoes for breakfast.

Podcasts

I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts. Armchair Expert and  Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend  are still weekly favorites, and I’ve also added The Cut on Tuesdays and, at my sister’s recommendation, The Almost 30 Podcast.  Even though I’m getting into that mid-thirties range, the content is still relevant and they have great guests.

Books

Dressing-On-The-Side

Dressing On The Side

My colleague and former classmate Jaclyn London has a new book out. In Dressing On The Side (And Other Diet Myths Debunked), she busts the diet myths that need to die and shares no-nonsense advice to give you a much-needed reality check.

So many people have recommended I read Sheryl Sandberg’s Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience, and Finding Joy, but I am just not there yet—I’ll do it when I get more than a couple pages without sobbing.

Instead, I’m currently reading Michelle Obama’s Becoming and just, wow. I am also slowly making my way through the January issue of Real Simple because I just can’t seem to go more than a few pages without falling asleep or losing interest. I also read Ellie Kemper’s My Squirrel Days over the holidays and it was such a fun escape.

Fitness

Still really into barre and Pilates and since the weather is cold, I’ve been walking a lot on the treadmill. It’s actually my favorite time to check emails and do social media follow-up. Something about being in motion makes it easier to get into a groove. Whatever works, right?!

I’d love to know what you’re into lately! Drop me a comment or tag me in an instagram post.
