Today I participated in a community service day at my school. My job was to help make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to be taken to the Bowery Mission. It was a fun way to get involved and meet some other students. We made several hundred sandwiches, but the time went by so quickly!

At one point, a homeless woman came up and started tapping on the window, motioning for a sandwich. Another student and I took a few out to her.

“I love you guys!” she said, and gave us a big hug. It was pretty cute.

The  school was nice enough to provide us pizza, so I was able to enjoy a big slice of vegetable pizza (my favorite) before grabbing some coffee and heading to a yoga class at yoga to the people.

I’m not sure what’s up today, but everyone’s been really nice everywhere I go. My neighbors in yoga were all very chatty and friendly, and when I stopped at Trader Joe’s nobody was shoving or barking at one another. I also got pulled out of line and was able to pay separately. Weird, but I won’t question it. Unfortunately, about a block away, I noticed I’d been undercharged by a few bucks, but I guess there are worse things.

I also got the “nice face discount” at a fruit stand, probably because I was buying so many things. Then someone handed me a piece of chocolate that said “sweet serenity after yoga” on the wrapper. Go figure.

Must be the nice weather or something. I’m so glad spring is here.

Studying for my chemistry exam is not going to be easy, but at least I’ve had such a good day so far, I don’t feel like I’m missing out. And besides, I have episodes 3 and 4 of Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution ready when I am for a study break…

Enjoy your day!
