So the good news is that my left thumbnail is almost all the way grown back. The bad news is that I’m on antibiotics again. I hate to admit it but it’s made a huge difference!

As I was posting about on Instagram recently I’ve been giving my immune system a little extra TLC by taking extra probiotics in addition to eating food sources and being more mindful of incorporating foods that are good sources of prebiotics in order to nourish those beneficial gut bacteria.

While it may not be as potent as raw garlic, roasted garlic makes a delicious addition to my routine.

Roasted-Garlic-Done
I used to think roasted garlic was hard to make but then I tried it this way and found it’s actually really easy.

Ingredients:

  • One head of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Equipment: Tinfoil

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Slice horizontally to remove the top of the bulb off the garlic, exposing the cloves.
  3. Rub olive oil over tips if garlic cloves.
  4. Wrap garlic head in foil and bake at 400 until cloves are soft and golden, about 40 minutes.

To serve, remove cloves with a knife or small spoon and spread over toast, toss into a vegetables or grain dish, or add to sauces, hummus, or other spreads.
