You guys have probably heard me say that when life gets super-hectic, frozen vegetables help make life so much easier. I even wrote about my frozen veggie love for SHAPE.

Writing last week’s post about October obsessions was really fun, so I thought I’d share an official recipe for the brussels sprouts to go with my blabbing.

As part of the Fiscal Femme’s 30-Day Money Cleanse (which started last week!), I’m working on capping my weekly grocery budget at $100 (between personal groceries and project supplies), so I know I’m going to have to tame my habit of buying random stuff I’m curious about—like this delicious find I picked up a few weeks ago.  If you’ve been with me even a little while, you know my love of bourbon, so when I saw this Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup at Trader Joe’s, I just had to buy it. This is one impulse buy that was totally worth it. It’s not super-sweet, so it’s a perfect fit for savory recipes.
