I’m working on a piece about how to choose healthier cereals (go for whole grains, at least 4 grams fiber per servings, and make sure sugar/corn syrup/etc is not one of the first ingredients). During my brainstorming and research, I came across this iPhone app called CerealScan, from Fooducate.

Available on the iPhone App Store for $0.99, this application allows you to scan the barcode of a box of cereal, find out what’s in it, and consider a list of healthier alternatives. For someone who doesn’t have time to read labels, I can see this being really helpful.
