I’m not good at taking time off, but it was really important to be with my family while we said goodbye to my dad, who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on September 4th. He died peacefully, surrounded by people who love him in a room full of music, and I am so grateful for all the time we had together. He was the hardest working man I’ve ever known, and he was truly afraid to live and love without limits. One of the most valuable things he ever taught me and my sister Julia was that if you love someone you should tell them—and tell them every five minutes. I’m really going to miss him.

I’m taking a few more days off as I ease myself back into real life and catch up with some things I had to put on hold last week, but in the meantime, check out this awesome guest What I Ate Wednesday post and this guide to on-the-go breakfast. If you’re looking some convenient desk snack ideas, you can grab them here.

Thanks for your patience as I start this process of putting my feet back on the ground.
