Cocktails get the most attention when it comes to celebratory beverages, but you don’t need to have alcohol to enjoy yourself at a party or unwind at the end of the day. Using quality ingredients and getting creative with flavor pairings will elevate your experience when you want something a little more exciting than water.

There are also a lot of health benefits to skipping the booze: improved energy, better sleep, better skin, lower risk of health issues related to alcohol intake, and no hangovers, just to name a few.

Whether you avoid alcohol entirely or are just looking for ways to reduce your intake or enjoy a break from drinking, it’s helpful to have a few solid mocktail recipes in your back pocket. Recipes you can easily make at home helps make this so much easier. That said, one of the common mocktail mistakes I see people make is overdoing sugar, which can add its own array of health issues when it becomes a regular part of your life. That said, one of the most common #mocktail mistakes I see is people overdoing sugary mixers that distract from more subtle flavors in addition to contributing excess calories and messing with your blood sugar.

Today I’m teaming up with Wholesome Sweeteners to share a delicious mocktail featuring Allulose, the new no-calorie, low-glycemic sweetener that also happens to be non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free, keto-friendly, and easy on the digestive system. It’s available in both granulated and liquid forms.

Rosemary is one of my favorite herbs. I love adding it to savory foods like poultry and lamb as well as to soups and stews. It also plays well in baked goods, especially when you get some lemon in there. Another place it shines? Cocktails. This rosemary syrup is super-simple and is the kind of thing you can make a batch of to keep on hand to enjoy through the week. When you make it with allulose, you save yourself the excess calories and blood sugar spike you’d get from sugar, making it much easier to fit into your regular healthy living routine.

You can skip the blackberries if muddled fruit isn’t your thing, but it really takes this drink up a notch and makes it feel way fancier than it is.

Cheers!

Directions:

Bring water to a boil. Add rosemary and Allulose and stir until Allulose dissolves. Remove from heat and allow to steep for 45 minutes.

After the 45 minutes are up, strain the syrup into a bowl using a fine mesh strainer and set aside. If you’re it storing for later, transfer to a jar with a lid.

To make each drink, fill a glass with ice and add lemon juice, syrup, and blackberries. Top with club soda and mix well. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary.
