Have you ever felt like you’re drinking all the green juice, trying all the diets, doing all the workouts that are supposed to be the best—and you somehow feel even more burnt out? Does stress derail your self-care routine? Got whiplash from reading so many conflicting wellness posts?
Hi! I’m Jess, a registered dietitian, integrative nutrition health coach, podcaster, and writer with a passion for helping others simplify their wellness routine, break up with overthinking, and stand up to stress.
I have a decade of experience as a practitioner and content creator. I’ve worked as a dietitian and health coach in clinical, corporate, and private practice settings, and all along the way have written for a variety of publications and created content for food and lifestyle brands. I’m also a speaker and podcaster and the author of The Little Book of Game Changers: 50 Healthy Habits for Managing Stress & Anxiety. Healthy living doesn’t have to be complicated, and I’m out there spreading the message!
Just like you, I used to let stress run the show. I grew up surrounded by sick relatives (name an organ system or body part—someone had it covered) and people with unhealthy relationships with food. I had tons of anxiety about what felt like a ticking time bomb of a family health history and was overwhelmed by misinformation about diet and wellness. I remember eating sandwiches with fat-free cheese on them at my friend’s house—was that even real cheese? It sure didn’t melt like real cheese! The 1990s were a dark time…
While I was able to find sustainable healing from a childhood eating disorder, what I struggled to let go of was the family sport of wearing “busy” like a badge. I thought I had to prove my worth by always doing more, often at the expense of “being” less, whether that applied to my health, my work, or my personal life.
I basically ran on adrenaline when I was in my twenties, trying to build my business and pay insane NYC rent. I was eating well and exercising but I was building in zero time for rest, recovery, or fun. Meditation was “for people who have time.” Some of it was survival, sure, but on a deeper level, I thought that amount of stress was normal and that I could tough my way through it, but when heart palpitations and insomnia landed me in the doctor’s office at age 29, I finally had to admit that maybe the 8 cups of coffee I was drinking a day weren’t helping. When I got bronchitis and lost my voice for an entire month, the message was clear—things had to change.
I started to implement a mind-body-spirit approach to healthy living built on the power of small changes and daily habits— prioritizing blood sugar balance, gut health, and stress management—that would become my signature coaching and writing style. Not only did it help me feel more grounded so I could really thrive and stop overtaxing my system—it worked for my patients. I also heard from countless people who had stumbled across my articles, blog posts, and media appearances about how helpful and approachable they’d found my recommendations and insight.
Through my writing, podcasting, and consulting, I develop resources that provide science-based education and actionable tips for managing stress, reducing disease risk, and feeling better NOW.
My ability to take my own advice and maintain some kind of balance was really put to the test when my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer when I was 31, and I turned my life upside down to help take care of him and be present. I learned a lot of things the hard way, but what I learned helped me provide better care for my patients and clients also balancing career with caregiving. After he passed away, I was inspired to do more to help others living with cancer or interested in decreasing their odds of getting it. Today, in addition to my communications work, I also counsel cancer survivors and high-risk individuals as part of a team of experts.
There’s a lot of noise out there distracting you from how you feel in your body and overthink what you should be doing to improve your health. I’m here to help demystify and to dial down the drama—and hopefully add some warmth and lightness.

I hold a Masters of Science in Clinical Nutrition from New York University in addition to a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Emerson College. I completed my dietetic internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
I have experience in the clinical setting, long-term care, corporate wellness, and private practice. I’m currently the dietitian and health coach for the Valley Breast Center in Northern New Jersey, where I counsel patients on healthy lifestyle and risk reduction as part of a comprehensive breast cancer survivorship program. What I love about working in nutrition is that it allows me to help others make connections between mind and body wellness to live a more balanced life. For fun, I love spending time with friends and family—and my pets. I used to think I was strictly a dog person until I met my husband, who came with two cuddly rescue cats who won me over. I also have a soft spot for storytelling shows and dark comedy. I love to move and am a certified Pilates instructor. I also enjoy barre and yoga. When it comes to food and drink, I like my coffee black and my bourbon neat. I’m obsessed with vegetables, and love savory breakfast. I hate quinoa, but I do enjoy kale, that other Food Nutritionists Love, especially when there’s tons of garlic involved : )
