Cheers, Sandy

So yeah, I managed to get to the hospital today, where I saw some patients before serving lunch in the cafeteria. The hospital was offering free meals to staff, but the choices were pretty limited, and we had to be a little less generous with the portions than folks are used to. For the most part, everyone was just happy to be able to have something, but my goodness—I was shocked that folks actually complained about stingy portions. Seriously man, it’s a free lunch during a freaking hurricane.

Despite strict rationing orders from supervisors, we ran out of food earlier than expected, and people started freaking out, so I guess we’ll just see what tomorrow is like. Note to self: pack a sandwich. I had the option of staying overnight, but I was lucky enough to catch a ride with a fellow intern and her sister, who were going my way. By the time I got home, it was definitely wine o’clock. Well, first it was shower o’clock, seeing as I’d been on my feet and running around since waking up at the ass-crack of dawn. But yes, then wine.

I propose a toast to being safe and being nice to your fellow humans! Cheers!

What else shall we toast to?
