Happy Daylight Savings! How’s your Halloween weekend? I’m working at the hospital all weekend but have also made time for yoga class and a friend’s party. Here’s my weekly gratitude list as we go into this new month:

Apothic Red 20131.) I’ve basically stopped buying berries and mesclun salad because, well, it’s November and totally not summer anymore. I feel bad for people who don’t like fall produce. More arugula and root vegetables for me. There are also so many wonderful apple varieties this time of year. And pears, and squash…Frozen berries will do just fine for now.

2.) I made my seasonal trip to the Trader Joe’s wine store this week and have since been enjoying this delicious bottle of Apothic Red. This blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon hits all my favorite notes.

3.) A patient’s family member blew me a kiss goodbye as we were wrapping up the other day. Totally made my afternoon. I think one of the best compliments I can ever receive is someone telling me that our discussion brought them some comfort or reassurance.

4.) When I emailed my sister the other day to tell her I’d had a dream about her, she wrote back saying she’d had a dream about me too. I love these little instances of synchronicity. I wish my sister and I were able to hang out more, so it makes me happy that our collective subconscious makes the time when we can’t.

5.) Kids in Halloween costumes. My ovaries are still doing all kinds of crazy things that make my conscious brain a little worried, but all the trick-or-treaters this year were just too damn cute for me to care.

6.) My first 29th birthday is coming up at the end of this month. Yay, birthday month!

What’s brought you joy recently?
