Happy Sunday! In lieu of a regular post this week, I just want to take a chance to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to my mom. I am eternally grateful for her love and support—and for her willingness to pass on her extensive kitchen knowledge. This is to say nothing of her immense patience for my stupid questions about things like how best to peel a squash.

Mom, I am proud of and inspired by you every day. Thank you for showing me how to work hard and love deeply and to be brave about what feels right.
